A scout in California has been denied the Eagle Scout badge by his scoutmaster because of his decision to come out as gay, despite, he claims, not being told he would not be awarded the badge.

Michelle Kosilek, the trans woman incarcerated in an all-male prison, has filed for the expenses she, and her attorney, are requesting from the court, following a ruling that her legal costs, as well as the cost of gender reassignment surgery, as a treatment for gender dysphoria.
